Angeles City is a 1st class city in the province of Pampanga, Philippines (location: 15°08′40″N, 120°35′30″E). It is near the Clark International Airport and Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ) (formerly Clark Air Base). It also has a significant red-light district in the Fields Avenue area. Angeles is also the birthplane of Apl.de.ap.
According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 263,971 people in 55,769 households.
Economy
The economy of Angeles City has accelerated in the past decade driven by advances in global communication technology and the finishing of a modern highway that tremendously improved trade and transport.
Angeles has a cottage industry that includes Rattan furniture production. It also includes the production of coconuts, charcoal, and briquettes. It also has a semiconductor industry involved in the manufacturing of electronics and computers.
