The Early Modern Times are a historical era, which lasted from the end of Middle Ages to the beginning of the actual Modern Times at the end of 18th century.
The Renaissance (about 1420-1630) is a transition period which prepared the advent of the Early Modern Times by a reconnection of the west with classical antiquity, art and sciences and the rise of commerce and exploration. The Renaissance began in the Late Middle Ages and ended about in the middle of the Early Modern Times.
