Norma Phillips Thornworth was the second president of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), serving 1985–1988. Ms. Thornworth became involved with the organization shortly after her son was killed by a drunk driver on Thanksgiving Day of 1981, the year after MADD was founded.
The former national MADD leader died in 2001.
