Plzeň Region (Czech: Plzeňský kraj) is an administrative unit (kraj) in the western part of Bohemia in the Czech Republic. It is named after its capital Plzeň (German: Pilsen).

Economy
Plzeň Region is average in economic development when compared to the Czech Republic. With 5.4% of the country's entire population, it makes up 5.5% of GDP. [1] This would result in a total GDP of approximately $10.94 billion (PPP, 2005) and per capita GDP of approximately $19,900, slightly above the Czech average.
