Was a 19th century Russian term that in some cases was used to describe the burgeoning middle classes, but was more accurately used to describe people of a mixed social class, meaning that in the increasingly lenient social caste system of late 19th century Russia, people from upper classes would marry people from the lower classes and would thus create a mixed class family.
