Social welfare may refer to:

• The overall welfare or well-being of a society.
• In economics, the utility of people considered in aggregate. (See Welfare economics and social welfare function.)
• The provision of a wide range of social services, for the benefit of individual citizens. This usage is closely related to the idea of the welfare state.
